Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

SWINE FLU Information

CAPS offers a variety of services designed to help Polytechnic Institute of NYU Students achieve their maximum potential both academically and professionally.

Our staff of licensed psychologists and psychological trainees offer short term individual psychotherapy,group counseling, and consultation to friends, family, faculty, and staff members who are concerned about a NYU-Poly student counseling, as well as variety of workshops for the Polytechnic Institute of NYU community.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is located on the third floor of the Jacobs Administration building in room 358. We are open Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.

Need your Health Insurance card?

If you have the Polytechnic Institute of NYU Student insurance (which you likely have unless you opted out of it), you will need your insurance card to meet with a doctor or fil a prescription at a pharmacy.

To download your insurance card click here. Scroll down and click on the green "Enroll" button. Fill in the required information and print up your card. When you meet with a doctor or go to get your prescription filled show your doctor or pharmacists your insurance card.


The Polytechnic Institute of NYU community is saddened and shocked to learn of the events at Northern Illinois University. We can all play a role in helping one another deal with these unthinkable events to facilitate healing and recovery.  We wanted to offer some thoughts and suggestions as you deal with students in class, in formal and informal gatherings, and on an individual basis.
